Is it worth it?

I would say a resounding yes. If you are an established model flyer, give it a go. If you are not, learn to fly before adding the complication of photography to an already challenging hobby.

It's not expensive or complicated and the satisfaction of taking remote photographs from positions you cannot get to is huge. I thought that about plain vanilla model flying but aerial photography adds a whole new layer of interest and reward.

Hopefully the information here has answered a few questions, fired up some ideas and generally got the enthusiasm going. Everyone has their own thoughts on how to achieve a given end and my experiments are only one view of things.

I will definitely be pursuing this new angle to the hobby and would urge others to test the water.
